COLOR CODING FOR SUBICWATER SUB-CONTRACTORS
“First, we would like the people to recognize if these sub-contractors working on the road are indeed, Subicwater’s sub-contractors. If they are so, we can easily identify what particular process or work they are doing for SUBICWATER,” said Villanueva.

Villanueva added that workers of the sub-contracting firms have the words “SUBICWATER Accredited Contractor” printed at the back of their uniforms, whose color is based on the work they perform for the water and sewerage company. The contracting company’s name is also printed on the shirt.

“Yellow uniforms are for engineering projects; blue for restoration works. Contractors for service connections wear red while leak-repair contractors have blue uniforms. Meanwhile, our contractors for meter-reading, disconnection, and reconnection have orange uniforms,” Villanueva revealed.

“Quality of work is our first concern- that is what we point out to out sub-contractors. Since they can be easily identified, we can thus receive feedbacks from other people aside from that of the SUBICWATER officer checking on their work,” she explained.
Subicwater has required its accredited sub-contractors to wear color-coded uniforms with visible markings to help the public distinguish them from other workers hired by other firms, and to identify what particular service they are doing for the private water and sewerage utility.

Integrated Systems Manager Thelma Villanueva said the color coding scheme which took effect beginning August this year will also help the company generate feedback from residents or business owners near the site where the sub-contractors are assigned.
